Flirting is not something that comes easily to everyone. Even the most confident people will freeze up and utter a wimpy "hey" when they see their crush approaching them in the hallways. Don’t panic. We have plenty of tips for flirting that will help you get your crush’s attention.

    1. Be confident. You can’t be more attractive than confidence. If you are strutting down the hallways like you own them, your crush (and everyone else!) will notice. You will attract your crush to the girl who recognizes she is something special.

    2. Show you’re interested in their life. Everyone loves to be complimented and most people love to talk about their lives. Do not miss the chance to have a conversation with your crush. Ask them lots questions about their lives, and show your genuine interest. They will appreciate your curiosity and be open to a second conversation.

    3. Attract attention to your lips. It sounds ridiculous but it actually works. Get pouty and keep chapstick or lip gloss in your bag. Apply a layer of lip gloss to your lips when you notice your crush approaching. They will be imagining their lips all day.

    4. When you see your crush in the hallways, smile and say hello. I know, when you’re walking down the hall and you see your crush approaching, it can be the scariest feeling in the world. Your gut reaction will probably be to look down at your phone and pretend like you’re in a furious text conversation, but ignore those instincts, look up, and smile at them. It’s not necessary to start a large conversation (unless it’s something you are interested in). Take a second to wave and say hi. Then, keep going. Boom–you’ll be on your crush’s radar.

    5. But don’t forget your crush…for too long. It seems counterintuitive, right? But think about it: Imagine your crush running into a group with their friends at McDonald’s. You can say hello to your crush’s friends and start a convo. Your crush will feel the tiniest bit left out, until you turn to include them (and make their day).

    6. Master the bump and flatter. You may "accidentally" bump into a hottie at an event. You can even laugh and say, "Oh my God. I can become a complete klutz when it comes to cute people. They will be instantly impressed and eager to learn more about you. This is when you introduce yourself to them and begin a conversation.

    7. Don’t look at them. It’s scary! When someone notices you staring at them, they usually turn away quickly to not realize you were actually eating a hamburger. But, next time, try this instead. Get all of your confidence. Then when your crush catches you staring, smile back at them, maybe even wink. This will let your crush know that you are confident enough to invite you to dinner.

    8. Take a look at their clothes. Ask them about their sport or band shirt. It will make you seem sincere and interested in their life, and it will start a nice conversation where you can learn more about each other.

    9. Sometimes it’s important to be obvious. It could be that you are playing frisbee and accidentally throw it towards one of the beauties. A sarcastic apology can let them know that you are flirting with them (and in on the joke), and may lead to a conversation.

    10. Introduce your friend. If you’re too scared to start a convo alone, bring your friend with you and introduce her to your crush. Although it may sound strange, sometimes it is easier to approach someone for another person.

    12. To start the conversation, you can use something light and cheesy. Pick-up lines are not what you want. "Did it hurt…when you fell from heaven?" Or: "How big is an elephant? Just enough to break the ice! If you’re trying to play it smooth but you’re coming up short, embrace the awkwardness and just be cute as hell. Jughead Jones will appreciate it.
